IF YOU OWN OR HAVE OWNED A TIBETAN MASTIFF WITH HEALTH ISSUES OR TEMPERAMENT ISSUES; I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. CONTACT ME. MANY HIGH VOLUME/ CORPORATE SHOW BREEDERS ARE NOT ALWAYS HONEST WHEN IT COMES TO HEALTH OR TEMPERAMENT ISSUES, MAKING IT HARD TO KNOW WHETHER YOU ARE BREEDING HEALTHY STABLE DOGS. I BELIEVE THEY DO THIS BECAUSE AKC SHOWS ENCOURAGE COMPETITION WHICH LEADS TO BREEDING GOOD LOOKING DOGS WHICH ARE NOT NECESSARILY HEALTHY. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS? I BELIEVE THE ANSWER IS THAT THEY HAVE INVESTED SO MUCH MONEY INTO THE DOG.

TIBETAN MASTIFFS COLORADO, TIBETAN MASTIFF PUPPY RESERVATIONS IN COLORADO

THIS SITE IS AN ON GOING AND IT CHANGES AS I LEARN MORE ABOUT THE BREED AND AKC POLICIES AND. I HAVE LEARNED A LOT BY BEING THROWN INTO MANY SITUATIONS OVER THE PAST EIGHT YEARS. SOME THINGS I WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY, AND THAT IS WHY I HAVE CREATED THIS SITE. I ENCOURAGE ANYBODY TO WAIT TO BREED. IT TAKES TIME TO LEARN ABOUT THE WORLD OF AKC AND DOG BREEDERS. I DON'T BELIEVE ALL THE AKC BREEDERS ARE BAD; BUT I DO BELIEVE THE AKC ORGANIZATION IS THE CAUSE OF MANY OF THE PROBLEMS I HAVE EXPERIENCED. MAYBE SOMEBODY ELSE WON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH SOME OF THESE THINGS. THANK YOU FOR VISITING. IT'S NOT ABOUT PUPPY SALES. YOU SHOULD BUY WHAT YOU LIKE, JUST KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO

THE AKC FALLACY - CLICK HERE

What does the Mafia and the AKC have in common? Based on my experiences; you have to give them money in order to protect your ownership of your dogs. I looked up an explanation of how people had to pay the MAFIA to protect them and based on my personal experiences and what the AKC did to Ron Bombliss of Kesang Camp, I get it. I can see a definate parallel. Mr. Bombliss had stopped registering his dogs with AKC for a couple of years and then the AKC suspended him for what I view as a fabricated charge for which they had no juristiction. By suspending him, they allow for his dogs to be registered in very deceptive ways by show breeders. On the other hand, they did not suspend a high volume show breeder who sold Mr. Bombliss' dog without his permission and was the subject of a DNA investigation. It was proven that the sire of the litter was not accurate. The breeder did not tell the AKC who they sold Mr. Bombliss' dog to without his permission. Is the only way to stop the AKC from registering your dog without your permission to pay them? That is how I am understanding it. I have seen two cases where the AKC has registered dogs and litters without seeking verification of signatures one of which without a signature at all! Many AKC show breeders continue to tell me that the AKC does not determine ownership, however, it seems to me they are. So I get the impression the AKC is very much like the Mafia. If you don't pay registration fees; you don't get protection. I also feel like the AKC breeders, much like the Mafia, stick together, and will try to destroy anybody who doesn't play "the AKC game". My advice to anybody is that the only reason to register your dog with the AKC is not because it is a registry of accuracy, or a symbol of quality or health; but to protect yourself and your dogs from the AKC.

WHAT IS A KENNEL WIN?

KENNEL WINS - THE ECONOMICAL WAY TO "CHAMPION" DOGS THAT ARE HAVING A HARD TIME WINNING. "PAY TO PLAY"?

CUT AND PASTE THESE LINKS FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT "KENNEL WINS".

HERE IS A GREAT ARTICLE ABOUT A BETTER WAY TO JUDGE DOGS. SADLY I DON'T THINK THE BIG SHOW BREEDERS WOULD EVER GET BEHING THIS CONCEPT. NO MORE "PAY TO PLAY"?
http://www.border-wars.com/2009/02/honest-dog-show.html

BEFORE I MET ALL THE DECEPTIVE BREEDERS THAT I "ASSUMED" WERE ETHICAL, I SHOWED ONE OF MY DOGS. I ACTUALLY "CHAMPIONED" HIM WITHOUT A "KENNEL WIN", OR HIRING A HANDLER. WHEN YOU BEAT THEIR DOGS WITHOUT A HANDLER FAIR AND SQUARE THESE STUCK UP CONDESENDING, MEAN, "AKC SHOW BREEDERS" WILL DiSMISS YOU AND YOUR DOG. THEY WILL SAY THINGS SUCH AS YOUR OUR DOG WON BECAUSE THE JUDGE HAD NEVER SEEN A TIBETAN MASTIFF BEFORE, OR YOUR DOG WAS JUST THE BEST OF THE WORST THAT DAY. THEY JUST CAN'T HANDLE BEING BEATEN EVEN WHEN THEY PAY EXPENSIVE POLITICALLY CONNECTED HANDLERS. SO IS THE AKC LIKE THE MAFIA AS I BELIEVE? IS IT A PAY TO "PLAY" AND "PROTECT" ORGANIZATION. I THINK THAT ONCE YOU GET INVOLVED YOU WILL FIND OUT REAL QUICK THAT IT MAY NOT BE ABOUT THE DOGS, RATHER JUST THE MONEY AND IF YOU DON'T "PAY" YOU MAY JUST WIND UP FINED AND SUSPENDED FOR DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG.

THE TIBETAN MASTIFF IS NO LONGER A RAREBREED! GOOGLE "TIBETAN MASTIFFS ABANDONED" AND READ ALL THE ARTICLES THERE ARE NOW 9+ PAGES OF TIBETAN MASTIFFS PUPPIES ON ONE PUPPY SITE ALONE!!! DON'T PAY SCAVENGER, FIRST TIME TIBETAN MASTIFF BREEDERS EXORBITANT PRICES PROMOTING COLOR AS BEING RARE. THERE IS A LIMITED GENE POOL OF TIBETAN MASTIFFS IN THE U.S. AND YOU ARE IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT. MOST PEDIGREES CONTAIN SIMILAR LINES. BE WARY OF PEOPLE BREEDING THE FIRST TWO TIBETAN MASTIFFS THEY HAVE EVER OWNED AS SOON AS THEY TURN ONE WITH NO HEALTH TESTING, NO DNA ON FILE AND NO MICROCHIP. BE WARY OF "LITTLE KNOWN" REGISTRIES. THE TWO REGISTRIES MOST RECOGNIZED ARE THE UKC AND THE AKC. SOME OTHER REGISTRIES ARE BEING USED TO REGISTER DOGS THEY WERE NOT SUPPOSE TO REGISTER. WHAT KIND OF PERSON DOES THIS? SOMEBODY I WOULD NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH.

PERSONALLY IF I WERE GOING TO SPEND $5000.00 FOR A PUPPY, I WOULD GO OVERSEAS AND GET A VERY NICE TIBETAN MASTIFF WITH NEW BLOOD TO BRING BACK TO THE U.S. I CERTAINLY WOULD NOT SPEND $5000.00 ON SOME OF THE STUFF THEY ARE SELLING HERE IN THE U.S. I CAN THINK OF MANY KENNELS HERE THAT CHARGE LESS THAT I WOULD PREFER TO BUY OR RECOMMEND. FROM MY EXPERIENCE WITH SOME PEOPLE; I JUST COULD NOT JUSTIFY SPENDING $5000.00 FOR WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL. I HAVE FOUND THAT THE MOST LONG STANDING BREEDERS HERE IN THE U.S. CHARGE SOMEWHERE AROUND $3500.00 FOR A SHOW QUALITY PUP AND $2000.00 FOR A PET. THESE ARE LONG TIME EXPERIENCED BREEDERS WHO HAVE FAR MORE KNOWLEDGE THAN THE "NEW" SCAVENGER BREEDERS POPPING UP TRYING TO SCAM YOU $4000.00 PLUS. I COULD NOT RECOMMEND A BREEDER CHARGING THAT HERE IN THE U.S.!!! NO WAY.

DO NOT FORGET THE AKC "DOES NOT" REQUIRE MICRO CHIPPING SO HEALTHY ANIMALS CAN BE SUBSTITURED IN ORDER TO PASS HEALTH TESTS, THE AKC "DOES NOT" REQUIRE HEALTH TESTING OF BREEDING PAIRS AND THE AKC "DOES NOT" REQUIRE DNA ALONG WITH MICROCHIP TO INSURE THE ACCURACY OF IT'S REGISTRY!!!! REMEMBER AS AN EXAMPLE, COLOR IS NOT AN INDICATOR OF THE HEALTH OF A DOG OR QUAILITY. SOME GOOD ADVICE IS TO LOOK PAST THE COLOR. STRUCTURE AND TEMPERAMENT ARE MORE IMPORTANT. SO NOW THAT IT IS PUPPY SEASON; BUYER BUYER. IT'S NICE BEING ABLE TO GIVE TIPS WHEN YOU ARE NOT SELLING PUPPIES FOR A LIVING :). THE U.S. MARKET HAS BECOME OVER RUN WITH NEW PEOPLE BREEDING THE FIRST TWO TIBETANs THEY HAVE. THESE ARE JUST A FEW WORDS OF ADVICE. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT; NO MOTIVATION HERE. I HAVE NO PUPPIES TO SELL YOU! IF WE CAN SAVE SOMEONE ELSE FROM GETTING SCREWED, THAT IS A GOOD THING!

DOES AN AKC INSPECTION CERTIFICATE MEAN ANYTHING?

quote: " For this, a great many people rely on the American Kennel Club (AKC) for breeder recommendations, operating under the assumption that when the AKC endorses a breeder it means that breeder is taking excellent care of their dogs, following a high health standard, and indeed breeding healthy animals.Evidence is mounting that this is not the case at all, that in fact certification by the AKC means very little, except that the breeder in question has paid a a fee to the AKC. When Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States was asked whether seeing “AKC approved” on a breeders website or facility meant you were getting a healthy, humanely raised dog he said this “Absolutely not. It really is just a piece of paper without any value for dog welfare.”Lillian Devera found this out first hand when she bought a puppy from what she thought was a reputable breeder, with an “AKC-inspected” kennel. Instead she got “A very sick puppy.” The dog had intestinal parasites, an upper respiratory infection and a congenital eye defect, though records showed that the facility had been inspected only weeks before. Law enforcement went in 2 months later and rescued over 20 dogs. This is not an isolated incident. It turns out that the AKC has only 9 inspectors on staff, for the entire United States. When asked, they refused to comment on what percentage of breeders actually get inspected, though they did say they had conducted 55,000 inspections since 2000. The AKC is also known to have opposed laws that would regulate breeders based on the number of dogs they have, and require new standards or inspections. " unquote

AKC Under Fire from Some Breeders and Animal Welfare Advocates?

Coton de Tulear Breeders Do Not Cotton to the AKC | THE AKC HYPOCRISY? | GREAT ARTICLE ABOUT DOG SHOWS :)

THE TIBETAN MASTIFF IS NO LONGER A RARE BREED. IN RECENT YEARS, MANY PEOPLE HAVE BOUGHT AND BRED ANY TWO TIBETAN MASTIFFS THEY COULD GET WITH THE THOUGHT OF MAKING A LOT OF MONEY AND NOW THERE ARE TONS AND TONS OF THEM FOR SALE. MOST HAVE SIMLIAR PEDIGREES. DON'T SPEND THOUSANDS WHEN YOU CAN GET THEM FOR AS LOW AS $400.00. CERTAINLY DON'T PAY IN EXCESS OF $2000.00 OR MORE. THAT IS JUST SILLY. I WOULD URGE YOU TO SEE THE HEALTH TEST RESULTS AS MANY OF THESE DOGS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TESTED. YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO CONTACT BLUE LION RESCUE.

THIS IS A GREAT ARTICLE THAT SUMS UP WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED. IF YOU ASK QUESTIONS YOU ARE VERY LIKELY TO BE ATTACKED FOR COMPLAINING ABOUT THESE HIGH VOLUME BREEDRES. WHY? FOLLOW THE AKC MONEY TRAIL.

QUOTE FROM ARTICLE SITED ABOVE: "Why not stand up for the dogs being held hostage in the most inhumane conditions possible?

It’s all about the money. The AKC earns big bucks from commercial breeders...puppy mills.

An estimated 40 percent of the AKC’s annual $61 million revenue comes from dog registrations. Of that amount, the largest percentage of the funds come from mass breeding operations…many of which are puppy mills. Between 2011 and 2013, AKC revenue dropped 13 percent. As revenue drops, the AKC is holding on to the area where they get the most dough – commercial breeders." UNQUOTE

Bottom line is that you should buy what you like and just be happy. Don't let these "nut jobs" with their own registries tell you what to do.

DO TIBETAN MASTIFFS MAKE GOOD SERVICE DOGS?

Some breeders advertise Tibetan Mastiffs as service dogs; I would be very skeptical. Talk to breeders who have been in the breed for many, many years. Here is a link that you might find helpful. MEETING AND EXCEEDING THE ADI REQUIREMENTS. PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO NUMBER 9. QUOTE: " The client must abide by the ADI Minimum Standards of Assistance Dog Partners. Prior to placement every service dog must meet the ADI Standards and Ethics Regarding Dogs, be spayed/neutered and have current vaccination certificates as determined by their veterinarian and applicable laws. It is the program’s responsibility to inform the client of any special health or maintenance care requirements for each dog." UNQUOTE WITH SO MANY PEOPLE ABUSING THE SERVICE DOG CERTIFICATION STATUS, BE SURE TO SPEAK "DIRECTLY" TO THE PERSON WHO CERTIFIED TIBETAN MASTIFFS AS SERVICE DOGS. ASK TO SEE THE TRAINERS CREDENTIALS. Tibetan Mastiffs are typically very guardy, protective, and aloof. These are probably not the best qualities for a service dog and I would question very carefully those making such claims. I am not an expert by any means, but it would be prudent for anybody to find a breeder who has been in the breed for 20+ years who could answer this question for you. There are a lot of new comers trying to make a name and money for themselves. You never know what claims are true and which are not. Saying a parent is a service dog really means nothing to me as each puppy has a personality of it's own. If by chance, there is a Tibetan Mastiff who is a service dog; it by no means is a guarantee that each and every one of it's offspring will have the same qualities suitable for service dog work. Just my opinions.

I AM NOT TRYING TO MAKE PUPPY SALES WITH THE INFORMATION ON THIS SITE. I AM NOT A BIG TIME BREEDER; NOR A THREAT TO ANY OTHER BREEDER. I AM NOT BREEDING FOR MONEY, OR THE SHOW RING. I AM NOT ABOUT "CONVINCING" YOU TO BUY A PUPPY FROM ME. I JUST HOPE TO SAVE SOMEBODY ALL THE GRIEF AND HEARTACHE I EXPERIENCED WITH AKC SHOW BREEDERS AND TO BE CAREFUL OF THOSE NOW MIGRATING TO UKC TO BOOST THEIR PUPPY SALES. BUY WHAT YOU LIKE BUT BE CAREFUL. EVERYBODY WILL BE VERY NICE TO YOU. DO YOUR RESEARCH. I HAD NEVER OWNED A"PAPERED" DOG BEFORE. I GUESS I SHOULD CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY :). RECENTLY, I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT A COUPLE OF THESE TIBETAN MASTIFF PEOPLE ARE JUST FLAT OUT BAT S _ _ T CRAZY! DID YOU KNOW THAT WE HAVE A HUGE "DILEMMA" WHEN IT COMES TO TIBETAN MASTIFFS? THAT THE SKY IS FALLING ON OUR POOR TIBETAN MASTIFFS AND SOON THEY WILL BE ON THE BRINK OF EXTINCTION? HOLY COW; THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END! WELL CALM DOWN NOW FOLKS. DON'T YOU THINK THAT SOUNDS A LITTLE EXTREME? I CERTAINLY DO. I THOUGHT NATURAL SELECTION WOULD TAKE CARE OF MIS FITS LIKE THIS BUT I GUESS WE WILL JUST HAVE TO LEARN TO IGNORE THOSE STRANGE BEINGS ON THE FRINGE. NO WORRIES, I KNOW ALL THIS IS HARD TO "DIGEST" :) AND HARD TO BELIEVE, BUT I HARDLY THINK THE TIBETAN MASTIFF IS GOING TO GO AWAY SOON. THERE ARE PLENTY OF THEM OUT THERE. TONS AND TONS! JUST GO TO ALL THE PUPPY Sites AND YOU CAN FIND HOARDS OF EM. THEY ARE NOT A "RARE" BREED ANYMORE; THAT IS FOR SURE. YOU WILL FIND BIG ONES, SMALL ONES, GOLD ONES, RED ONES AND EVERY OTHER COLOR YOU CAN IMAGINE IN A PRICE RANGE THAT FITS YOUR BUDGET. LOTS OF CHOICES. DON'T LET THE "FEAR MONGERS" WORRY YOU. GET WHAT YOU LIKE AND JUST BE HAPPY. JUST REMEMBER THE TIBETAN MASTIFF IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY. THEY ARE A 'GUARD" DOG . THEY TAKE THE JOB OF GUARDING "THEIR" FAMILIES SERIOUSLY AND AS SUCH, NEED TO BE INTRODUCED TO ALL THOSE ENTERING YOUR HOME.

This site is made up of my opinions formed on my direct experiences. I have noticed that some breeders who consider themselves "elitists" are quick to judge others. I am not here to tell you who to buy your puppy from. I am only telling you what has happened to me and try to help you sift through all the B.S. about breeders who claim to be "better than everybody else". They will tell you to only buy from breeders who will take their dogs back. Well, ask them, how many dogs have you taken back? They will tell you they are "experts". Well, ask them how many Tibetan Mastiffs have they owned and how many have they bred? You have every right to ask them every question they will ask of you on their "Puppy Questionnaires". What is fair is fair. Ask them for their vets information, ask them for a list of all their puppy buyers so you can call them and not let them "cherry pick" whose name they will give you. Ask them if their dogs are kept inside with them as part of their family? Turn the tables on them and if they refuse to give you all the information they are asking of you; I would be a little skeptical.

SOMETIMES BREEDERS WILL GIVE YOU A PUPPY FOR FREE OR A REDUCED RATE IN EXCHANGE FOR YOU BEING REQUIRED TO BREED IT AND GIVE THEM BACK ONE OR TWO "PICK" PUPPIES. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS AT ALL AS THIS IS HOW I GOT SUCKED INTO AN UNSCRUPULOUS DEAL AND HOW I BECAME FAMILIAR WITH UNETHICAL PRACTICES. THIS IS CALLED THE PYRAMID SCHEME. YOU DO ALL THE WORK AND THEY REAP THE REWARDS BY TAKING YOUR PICK. THIS GIVES THEM THE "APPEARANCE" OF NOT BEING A "HIGH VOLUME BREEDER" AND / OR "ETHICAL". THEY LET OTHERS TAKE THE HEAT FOR ANY HEALTH OR OTHER QUESTIONS IN THE FUTURE AND THROW THE UNSUSPECTING VICTIM UNDER THE BUS OR EVEN WORSE; ATTACK THEM ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA "HATE SITES". This is called the "pyramid scheme".

With integrity, you have nothing to fear, since you have nothing to hide. With integrity, you will do the right thing, so you will have no guilt.

AKC REGISTERS UN-REGISTERED DOGS!

BEWARE OF SO CALLED "ELITE" BREEDER SITES.

DO AKC PAPERS MEAN ANYTHING?

AKC CORRUPTION? YOU DECIDE

TIBETAN MASTIFF, TIBETAN MASTIFF PUPPY RESERVATIONS

I don't always agree with people, but is that a reason to spread rumors that they are in jail? I personally do not think so . These people are truly ill, accusing those who have "saved" dogs of doing harm and other outrageous, slanderous, lies. The emails were forwarded to me and these are not my words. I have found that those people selling breeder services on websites are the ones more likely spreading these rumors. They are the ones with money riding on sales. I have known a few who have spread these kind of rumors without ever meeting the person they are defaming. They also present themselves as being ethical. I have found this to be untrue. Remember, follow the money! Again, I am not selling puppies with this site. I am just appalled at the behavior of people that I have met since buying my first Tibetan Mastiff.

QUOTE: "

But scams happen all the time

  1. Let's say Dishonest Dave has two purebred Boxers with registration papers.
  2. The female is accidentally bred by a stray dog of unknown ancestry.
  3. Dishonest Dave is unwilling to give up the $600 he could get for "AKC registered Boxer puppies" so when the litter arrives, he simply fills out the litter registration paperwork – claiming that his BOXER was actually the father.
  4. The AKC will dutifully mail him a packet of Boxer registration papers for each puppy, which he will happily pass along to the buyer of each puppy....collecting his $600 as he does so.
  5. And no one will be the wiser until the puppies grow up and start to look suspiciously non-Boxerish.

Fortunately, the AKC has a new DNA testing program now, where participating breeders submit DNA samples of parents and puppies, which conclusively proves parentage. If you want to be sure of who your puppy's parents really are, look for breeders who participate in this program. "

UNQUOTE

If you are a breeder you should be putting DNA on file and make sure you get vet reports from puppy buyers when they pass. Otherwise it is quite possible that people will spread rumors about health and genetics on dog's bred by somebody they don't like. Believe it or not? I am still having a hard time understanding why these people saying these awful rumors are using this breeder's dogs in their breeding programs? If you really believe this stuff; why not stay away , don't buy their dogs, and don't use them in your breedings? Weird . AKC has ignored my emails so why would I pay them to have this possibly happen to me? The only way AKC could convince me to register a dog with them is to require DNA of parents be on parents before the breedings are done and to give me the courtesy of responding to my emails and questions. Otherwise what good are they to me? If you bought a puppy from a person who spreads these types of rumors; what would they say about you as a puppy owner if you did something they didn't like? I would be very careful who you are dealing with.

These opinions are based on my experiences with AKC show breeders.
